After reading and taking a critical look at my OKC account I was able to update my profile into a direct and concise view of myself. It has actually resulted in more responses and messages from others! I should have kept copy of my old profile as a reference.Product details

Oh God, please... as a straight poly woman on OK Cupid, the world needs this book, badly.
Very short, easy read, but includes 'homework' and essential tips! Must read if considering online dating, I won't date anyone who hasn't read!
I agree. This is a necessary book especially for us clueless, straight guys. I'm in the midst of reading this right now and I'm very happy about how step-by-step it is. They make it as easy as possible to get this right.
I don't agree with the part where she talks about answering questions on OK Cupid. I think there is value in answering questions up to a point. She says in the book "The more questions you answer, the more accurate the matches become." Knowing something a little about math and about human beings, that's not really true. OK Cupid expects your answers to be the same whether the question makes sense for you to match with your prospect or not. Also, let's say you answer 1000 questions (which I've seen people do) and someone else who might be a good date answers the same 1000 questions. What's the likelihood you both are going to have the same answers? If both of you answer another 100 questions, what's the likelihood the match percentage will go up?
And, if me and my date both matched say 95% on 1000 questions, isn't that like dating myself (in a dress)? I mean I am awesome (and I look awesome in a dress), but I'm not a narcissist. )
My point is I think there's probably a set of basic questions everyone should answer for matches, but all the rest don't matter. If they ask me a question about which kind of ice cream I like and it doesn't match someone I might want to date, how is that relevant at all? If I'm not a messy person, but I don't mind dating someone who is and my possible match answers the same question, but says she does mind dating a messy person, then that's not a match on OK Cupid. (That's a real question, BTW -- Would you date someone who's really messy?).
For myself, I always want people to answer the questions about dating someone in an open relationship, how possessive you are and if you are sex-positive or not. Some of the rest might matter, but I don't want them to get in the way of finding someone who's different from me, but still very cool.
Maybe to use those questions to their best advantage, you should think about how you want your match to answer the question, then give that answer. Then again, depending on the question, it might be misleading and your prospect might be doing the same thing, which totally messes it up.
So, IMHO, you should answer some of the questions; the important ones. Maybe a hundred or so. But don't answer too many because there are too many questions that don't matter for matching and a lot of questions that are better answered on a date.
Be well!
Great solid usable advice from 2 of my favourite podcasters- a wonderful practical and saucy (potent) book!
